Who We Are
Tsum Manaslu trek and expedition is one of a few local startups among numerous numbers of trekking agencies and companies in the booming tourism industry of Nepal. We are a youth led endeavor aiming to promote local economy (a local multiplier effect) and create employment opportunities to and among the youths of Tsum and Manaslu region.
The Company is led by two of us youth from Tsum and Manaslu. With our prior experience and knowledge in the field of trekking tourism for more than ten years, we strive to create sustainable quality travel experience in our hometowns. Our key goal is to provide with you an opportunity to have close connections with local people meanwhile enjoying the authentic, culturally immersive experiences. Furthermore, we focus our top priority in creating culturally and environmentally sustainable program.
What We Do
Our main working areas are in Rupina la, Tsum and Manaslu; three adjoining valleys located in the central Nepal Himalaya, our hometown region.The complete fusion of nature and culture, from wilderness to civilization, this trip has got you all. In the developing Nepal and its incessant ‘development’ in many different places including Tsum and Manaslu, we’ve designed this trip just so perfectly to keep you away from all the hustle and to make you immerse in the pure joy of exploring and enjoying the true beauty of nature and people. The exploration of these three valleys amidst the Himalaya is not only the perfect blend of trekking joy but this also marks the holy circumambulation of three hidden valleys; which holds significant importance to the local culture and way of life from ancient times. Meet The Team

Nyima Samdup
Co–founder/Executive Director
Co-founder of Tsum Manaslu trek and expedition, Nyima Samdup holds large array of experience in trekking tourism. From 2012, Nyima started his journey into trekking, initially as an assistant guide then gradually transitioning to a trek leader.

After gaining experience from different well-reputed traditional trekking companies, he started to independently organize trips to his hometown in Manaslu and different other trekking destinations such as Tsum, Everest, Annapurna, Mustang, Langtang from 2016 A.D.
Professionally, Nyima holds trekking guide and leader certification from National Academy of Travel and Tourism (NATHM). Apart from it, he has gone through various adventure related trainings; introductory rock climbing, mountain rescue, navigation, wilderness first aid as well as training of trainers in adventure tourism.
Nyima has already climbed two 6000m+ peaks; Mera and Lobuche.
He soon plans to achieve the glory of climbing Manaslu; the eight highest mountain in the world from his native town. This will not only mark him as the first local to gain this glorious achievement but also will play crucial role in promoting sustainable tourism back home.

Pema Norbu
Co–founder/Executive Director
The co-founder of Tsum Manaslu trek and expedition, Pema Norbu is born and raised in Tsum; a pristine Himalaya valley, surrounded by gorgeous mountain ranges also called the hidden valley of happiness; termed in local vernacular as ‘Beyul Kyimulung’.

Pema started his journey to trekking tourism from 2013 A.D, beginning as sup-porter and gradually transitioning to trekking guide and leader. As part of family travel enterprise, Pema mainly held his inspiration as well as experience while working and organizing trip mainly to Tsum and Manaslu.
Besides his involvement in the industry, Pema is social science student and look forward to preserve and record the cultural aspects of Himalaya. With the privileged mentorship and guidance from professor Andrea Nightingale, Pema feels lucky to have worked in research projects looking into climate change. “The mountain is our humble abode and we are her cherished, responsible guardians”, the true word from his mother, Pema always carries this advice from heart and consider the humble mountain not only the true abode also a key source of supplementing the economic opportunities for many youths alike him.
